I had them too. About two months ago. I made a trap by putting vinegar in a small glass and then making a cone out of paper and putting it in the glass, sealing it so the fruit flies go in and then can't get out. They drown in the vinegar. I found the plans for the trap on the internet by just looking up fruit flies. They eventually just went away.
Did you bring any outside plants indoors? We had them hatch out of an outdoor plant last year after we brought the plant indoors. This year we treated the soil in the pot first.

OH I KNOW!! It is SOOOO annoying. I did something similar with apple cider vinegar and a couple drops of dish soap. It worked!
