Foreign Debt Payment

I would never in a million years have thought that someone would fall for one of these schemes, but then I realized that these awful, conniving people wouldn't be wasting their time trying them on the ENTIRE American public if there weren't some people sending them back their information and money.

Just in case, I thought I would mention it in my blog.

If ANYONE ever sends you an email saying they are from some foreign country and work for some division of money for that foreign government and are trying to find you to give you a bunch of money, you do realize that this is a con. Right? I receive so many of these that I just automatically delete them and can't believe someone would waste their time with this kind of thing. BUT... there may be a few of them that actually have somewhat decent grammar and spelling(I haven't found one yet in my inbox) that may get the email address for someone who is gullible, or down-on-their luck financially who is just looking for an easy million, and they may actually convince someone to take part in this scheme.

So, I am doing my part in letting the people that I love know... don't do it. Really. If there were millions of dollars to be GIVEN away to unsuspecting Americans, don't you think our government would have figured a way to get to that money first? ;)

Tell your mom and dad, tell your grandparents, tell your friends. Just to be safe. I would like to think that everyone I know would know just how bogus these deals are, but ya never know!

And just to see an example of one of the letters, here is an email I have received. I have also received snail mail that looked like someone had taken a lot of time and care to make it look very official. Be aware.

(PS- my favorite part in this letter below is about us "dealing with all those fraudsters that have been frustrating")
