Very important question...

In my quest to de-clutter my life, it is this kind of thing that drives me crazy. Please leave me a comment to let me know what your solution to my dilemma is...

What do you do with all the tiny zip-lock bags that come with new shirts that have the extra buttons/beads/thread?

Sure, it sounds insignificant, but these are the kinds of things that add up in my home and all of a sudden, I am drowning in tiny button filled zip lock bags!

JEN THANK GOODNESS YOU UPDATED! You were killing me! :) (Smile, I know how busy you are!!)

I throw all those in a tupperware container and I keep it in my closet. I have an entire container of them.

I have started just throwing them away - do you ever really need them? I've rarely used a button and never the extra thread. Usually I want to get rid of whatever it is by the time it would need that type of fixing.

And if you do lose a button, you can always take one from the bottom of your shirt and move it up, then replace the lower (usually out-of-sight button)with one that is a close match.

My mom always had a button can she saved her extras in - it was a fun thing to go through as a kid. I have a button jar for Alison - but I try to only have big interesting buttons that won't go in the mouth so easily!!

Is my comment to long and rambly now????

I have a small box that was left over from our wedding invitations (for our July 1999 wedding, if you can believe that!) that I decoupaged years ago with some beautiful left-over wrapping paper. Whenever I get an extra button/thread bag, I put it in there. When it starts to overflow, I reexamine. If I can't identify the button, it goes.

Hope that helps!

I toss them out with the tags. :)

My mother used to put them in her sewing box. I do the same...yet, I don't sew. :o)
