Growing Veggies

My ever-wise friend mentioned that she is going to start growing her own vegetables to save money this spring/summer. I think that is a FANTASTIC idea and would love to make my weed garden actually produce something beneficial this year. Anyone have any advice on what to grow, when, how, etc...? Any good resources online for how to grow your own garden? This is exactly the kind of thing we need in our lives right now!

The book I like is Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew. He outlines how to maximize your space so you can get A LOT of produce out of one square foot. His book is easy to read and instructions are great. He also outlines what to plant when so you can have stuff from spring through summer to fall. Great Book! Maybe we can start an online gardening club and keep each other posted on how it's going!

I think he has a web site too. You can just google his name or square foot gardening.
