*sigh*
I have strep throat. again. I caught it either from my poor nephew or from someone else at his birthday party, which was at Kangaroo Jacks, which makes it pretty amazing that we aren't all walking around with different viruses right now!
I slacked for the first day and didn't go to the doctor. Then, the next morning when I was desperate, my doctor couldn't see me until late afternoon. So, after that appointment and then waiting at Walgreens for 40 minutes, I was able to start meds. I have just finished taking the first day of antibiotics, and usually, I am feeling a real difference by this time. Not so much now. I still can't swallow and have a slight fever, although it has gone down. I have to take 3 pills a day for 10 days, and if that doesn't work, the doctor says to come back. TEN DAYS?! I tell you what... if these pills aren't working in THREE days, I am going back... and I will only wait that long because it is the weekend!
Strep throat is just miserable.
And you know what I have noticed? Being an adult and being sick is just awful. The laundry still needs to be done... You still have work you have to do... The kids still fight and spill things and find every way possible to keep you from actually being able to lay down for 5 minutes, and no matter how old you are, you still want someone to take care of you when you are sick. It isn't fun being the mommy when all you want is your own mommy! (thanks mimi for all you did for me yesterday and for the last 35 years of strep throat!)
Someone eat something really hard and scratchy, like chips, just for me! I'm tired of pudding and ice cream.

Jen, if there is anything I can do let me know. I make a pretty good chicken soup. Not to mention, a few good strawbery banana daquiris might do the trick. I could leave out the alcohol for yours, ms. Antibiotic, and double up for Kurt (hey, that might work in your favor...heeheee) What's your plans for the weekend? If nothing we shoudl BBQ or something - we're just mulching ....and Sam's taking Zach to see SPEED RACER - is Brodes into that? Maybe the "boys could go" and we girls could watch ... CareBears or something equally as entertaing! We haven't hung out enough lately! We live right across the street and I miss you guys! (Plus I miss the cobbler you made the day we moved in. Hint, hint.) <---smile!!!
